The back head, part 3115 2063 00, closes the rear of an Atlas Copco rock drill and carries the flushing and control connections, taking the full recoil of every impact the piston delivers. Its threaded joint to the drill body has to stay tight through that repeated shock loading, and once it works loose even slightly, flushing pressure starts leaking past the seal instead of reaching the bit.
